Power Dynamos coach Oswald Mutapa has vowed to qualify from a difficult CAF Champions League group and qualify for the quarterfinals of the CAF competition.
The Zambian Super League champions will face defending champions Pyramids FC of Egypt, Confederation Cup champions RS Berkane of Morocco, and Nigeria’s Rivers United.
Despite the draw, Mutapa believes Dynamos have what it takes to compete with the ‘big boys’ in the group.
“Yes, everyone has seen the group. It’s a tough group, playing the champions of the Champions League and the champions of the Confederation Cup,” said Mutapa as quoted by Bola News.
“Also, playing Rivers United of Nigeria, who at one time played in the quarterfinals of the Confederation Cup, so it is not an easy group; [it is] a group of big boys and we are equally big boys because we are in that group.”
Dynamos reached the group stages after eliminating Ugandan champions Vipers SC in the second preliminary round of the competition. In the first round, they defeated ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast.
