CAFCL: Finidi George vows to qualify Rivers United

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George is confident that his side will scale through to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The Pride of Rivers will trade tackles with Black Bulls of Mozambique in the second leg of the second preliminary round tie at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Nigeria on Saturday.

Black Bulls are coming into the second leg with a slight advantage into the contest having won the CAF Champions League second preliminary round first leg 1-0 at the Lalgy Arena in Matola, Maputo, Mozambique.

Rivers United have been handed a boost

Finidi while speaking to Rivers United media said they will give their all to to walk home with the victory.

“It’s going to be a very interesting match and we are prepared for the challenge. We will play to win.”

The two teams are targeting a place in the group stage for the first time.

Rivers United have been handed a boost as Samson Obi and Handsome Surveyor have returned to the squad and will be assessed to see if both can play a part, as did Rivio Ayemwenre who could come into Finidi’s thoughts.
