CAFCL: Galaxy coach Connor admits facing ZESCO United will be heavy task

Jwaneng Galaxy head coach Sean Connor has acknowledged the challenge of facing a seasoned side like ZESCO United during the second preliminary round first leg fixture of the CAF Confederation Cup at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday.

The two sides will face off in the two-legged fixture with the winner set to qualify for the group stages. Speaking ahead of the game, Connor admitted the task ahead will not be easy but said his players were prepared to compete.

“We are very aware that the task is a much heavier one. The rewards at the end of it are also big,” Connor said.

“We are delighted to be here, but we have come here to compete. We have our own vision of where we want to be as a football club. We are looking forward to the challenge, but we understand that it is going to be very, very difficult.

“We are playing against probably one of the most historic teams in Zambia.”

Meanwhile, Galaxy captain Thabang Sesinyi revealed his teammates were focused on producing a strong performance in Ndola.

“A football game is never easy, no matter what we win, because both teams are already doing their best. We all want desired results, which are positive,” he added.

While ZESCO reached the second round after eliminating FC 105 from Libreville 5-2 on aggregate, Jwaneng qualified after a 7-6 aggregate win against Mighty Wanderers of Malawi.
