Ghana Premier League champions, Gold Stars will have the biggest challenge of the club’s history when they play in next season’s CAF Champions League for the first time.
The Bibiani-based club shrugged off tough competitions to win their maiden Premier League title after securing 63 points to finish top of the 2024/25 season table.
Head coach of the club, Desmond Frimpong Manso has admitted that, the club needs to augment the squad to withstand the tough challenges that come with participating in the continental competition.
“We need to add to the squad because that is another level,” Manso told Globe TV.
“At every level, you need to add. We will see the kind of quality we want, whether experienced or youth. I have the draft there; we will answer all those questions as to who and who are coming.”
Gold Stars will look to reach the group stage of the competition – a feat chalked by Medeama in the 2023/24 season where they finished bottom of Group D on four points behind CR Belouizdad with Young Africana and Al Ahly who qualified for the next round.
