Ghana Premier League champions Gold Stars will take their first bite at the CAF Champions League competition after lifting their maiden domestic top flight title last season.
The Bibiani based club defied the tough challenges from top sides like record league holders, Asante Kotoko and continental club masters, Hearts of Oak to claim their first ever trophy.
The head coach of the club, Frimpong Manso, has stated that the club is determined to make an impact at the tournament next season.
Speaking to Joy Sports, coach Manso said the team is keen on making the best out of the opportunity to compete on the continental stage for the first time in their history.
“You see, it depends on the way you also prepare yourself. That also counts a lot. So for me, I think we are new to the competition, but we will make the best out of the competition,” the coach shared.
Meanwhile, Bibiani Gold Stars will learn their preliminary round opponents in the CAF Champions League on August 12. Coach Manso and his players will be hoping to do well in the continental tournament to at least reach the money zone.
Prior to the start of the competition, Gold Stars have the Champion of Champions clash against Kotoko and the GHALCA Top Four competition to contend with.
