Top Kenyan referees Gilbert Cheruiyot and Stephen Yiembe have once again been selected for high-profile officiating roles this time in the CAF Champions League final.

The duo will have a role to play during the first leg final clash between Egypt Pyramids FC against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday. Cheruiyot will serve as the First Assistant Referee, while Yiembe has been appointed as the Second Assistant Referee for the continental showdown.

In a further endorsement of his credentials, Stephen Yiembe has also been selected to officiate at the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.

The Champions League final is scheduled for Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo, with kick-off set for 8:00 p.m. (EAT).
