Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, South Africa's representatives in the CAF Champions League, have arrived in Egypt ahead of their semifinal, second-leg matches. Both teams have since declared themselves ‘ready and focused’ on the tough away assignments.
Pirates tweeted upon arrival in Cairo, saying: "Landed in Cairo- We are here on business."
The Betway Premiership side, too, announced their touchdown in Cairo, tweeting: "Bafana Ba Style have touched down in Cairo, focused and ready for the task ahead."
Sundowns have a must-win against the CAF Champions League holders Al Ahly on Friday, April 25, 2025. A few hours later on the same evening, Pirates face Pyramids FC.
Miguel Cardoso's team has carried into Cairo a goalless draw from the first leg played in Pretoria on April 19, 2025, and must win to progress at all costs.
The same is the case with Jose Riveiro whose side too was frustrated to a barren draw in South Africa on April 19, 2025.
