Pyramids squad announced for South Africa trip to face Mamelodi Sundowns in CAF Champions League final first leg
Pyramids FC head coach Krunoslav Jurčić named a 28-man squad for the team’s trip to South Africa ahead of the first leg of the CAF Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Egyptian side travelled today heading to South Africa where they face Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday, May 24, with kickoff set for 1:00 PM GMT.
This marks Pyramids’ first-ever appearance in the CAF Champions League final, where they aim to make history against the experienced South African champions.
Pyramids FC Squad for South Africa Trip:
Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed El-Shenawy, Youssef Nader, Ahmed Mayhob.
Defenders: Ali Gabr, Karim Hafez, Mohamed Chibi, Ahmed Samy, Mahmoud Marei, Mohamed Hamdy, Tarek Alaa, Osama Galal.
Midfielders: Blati Touré, Mostafa Fathi, Mohannad Lasheen, Abdelrahman Magdy, Ahmed Tawfik, Ramadan Sobhi, Mahmoud Dunga, Ahmed Atef Kotta, Walid El Karti, Ibrahim Adel
Forwards: Youssef Obama, Dodo El Gabbas, Marwan Hamdy, Fiston Mayele.
The Pyramids delegation was scheduled to depart Cairo International Airport at 8:00 AM GMT on Wednesday, heading to Johannesburg on a nearly 10-hour flight. After arrival, the team will travel to Pretoria, the host city for the first leg of the final.
