Rivers United coach Finidi George says losing their first two matches in Group A will motivate his team to win against Power Dynamos in their CAF Champions League encounter on Saturday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Finidi said Power Dynamos would be compelled to play an open game, as they need to record their first win in the group stages.
“An interesting game, they too have lost, we have lost two games. So, we expect both teams to try and win the game, even if it is an away game for us, I think we have nothing to lose,” said the 1994 AFCON winner, who also won the UEFA Champions League with Ajax Amsterdam in 1995.
“We have to approach the game positively, if we want something in this tournament, we have to approach it to for a win. We are looking forward for an open game where both teams will try to win the game. We are looking forward to a good game on Saturday.”
The Ajax Amsterdam great who also previously coached the Super Eagles added his team will try to invoke their domestic form, which has placed them at the summit of the Nigerian Premier League.
“When it comes to international football, it is a different ball game. You need a lot, not just playing good locally. You must have that mindset as well, which we are trying to build on. It is not easy,” added Finidi.
RS Berkane and reigning champions Pyramids are in joint top position with six points while Rivers United and Power Dynamos are winless sharing third and fourth position respectively.
Dynamos has announced various selling points for tickets in Ndola and Kitwe among them Ravens Country Club, Dynamos secretariat, Arthur Davies Stadium, Tresmos Pleasure resort while in Ndola the selling point is Sijonamoro Investment along Broadway and Skyprint.
