CAFCL: Simba SC dream of reaching knockout stage still alive – Ahmed Ally

Simba SC Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, has raised new hopes for the club’s fans after landing in Dar es Salaam from Tunisia, stressing that the quest for an eighth consecutive quarterfinal is still on and remains part of the team’s plans.

The Msimbazi Reds suffered a third straight defeat in the CAF Champions League against Espérance Sportive de Tunis at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Radès in matchday three.

The only goal of the match was scored by Jacques Diarra in the 21st minute. It was enough to secure three precious points for the “Blood and Gold,” who now lead Group D with five points.

This was Espérance’s first victory in the group stage after two previous draws. Simba, on the other hand, remained without a win and sit at the bottom of the group with zero points.

Simba will qualify for knockout stages

In a message he posted, Ahmed Ally said that as soon as he landed in Dar es Salaam, felt the city’s warmth, and met some Simba fans at the airport, he gained new strength and hope for the team’s fate in the final three group stage matches.

“After landing and seeing the city of Dar es Salaam, then breathing in the warm air of Salaam, and then seeing some Simba fans at the airport, I gained new hope that our team will perform brilliantly in the final three group stage matches,” Ahmed Ally wrote.

He added Simba is ready to embark on a journey to write a new history that will shake Africa, starting with the game on Sunday, February 01, stressing he was confident of the Tanzanian club qualifying for the quarterfinals.

“For us, the quarterfinals are still not a dream, but part of our plans,” he emphasised.

Ally concluded by calling on all Simba fans to continue giving the team their full support, stressing the importance of unity and faith in the quest to achieve this ambition.

“I am asking all Simba fans to support us in achieving the goal of reaching the Round of 16 for the eighth consecutive time. It is not over yet, we can still do, we will do it, we know it is still possible.”

Simba, who never really managed to break through Espérance’s solid defensive organization, despite a few attempts, will host the same side in matchday four at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania.
