The two giants will square off in a second preliminary round, first leg match on Saturday. The Tanzanian giants will host the return leg on October 28 in Dar es Salaam. Yanga’s advance party arrived in the Malawi capital earlier this week.
The main delegation touched down at Kamuzu International Airport on Thursday with the familiar face of Malawian assistant coach Patrick Mabedi.
The former Kaizer Chiefs captain picked the job as Romain Folz’s deputy earlier this week. The former Flames coach’s knowledge of Malawi football could prove handy to Yanga.
Silver advanced to the next qualifying stage of the continental league after seeing off Elgeco Plus from Madagascar via an away goal rule after settling for a 1-1 aggregate score.
In the opposite camp, Yanga dismissed Wiliete FC from Angola 2-0 on aggregate.
