After struggling to find their stride in a 0-0 draw between the favorites to qualify from Group A at the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League (CAFWCL), FC Masar and AS FAR Rabat are back on course after dominant victories on Tuesday.

Host club Masar had no issues in the opening match of the day, a 5-0 demolition of Equatorial Guinea’s 15 de Agosto at the Right to Dream Stadium in Cairo. The hosts got off to a slow start, even after a red card was issued to the Equatoguinean club in the 16th minute. However, Yassmin Zezo’s 41st minute opener set the stage for a flood of goals in the second half.
In the later match, last year’s CAFWCL runners-up AS FAR overcame the lone winners from the first round, USFAS Bamako of Mali.

The Malian club continued to show that they are a capable side but a penalty kick conversion from Zineb Redouani gave the Moroccan club the breakthrough they needed just before halftime. The Royal Army club continued to control possession in the second half and added a late goal through Hajar Said in the 90th minute.
Masar now lead a closely contested group, tied on four points with AS FAR but ahead by virtue of a superior goal difference. USFAS are one point back ahead of a difficult clash with Masar while AS FAR are expected to secure their place in the semifinals when they face 15 de Agosto on Saturday.
The CAFWCL continues on Wednesday with Group B in action for its second round of matches. Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas lead after surprising reigning champions TP Mazembe and will face Tanzania’s JKT Queens, who played to a 0-0 draw with Gaborone United in their opener.
