Right to Dream Academy graduates continue to shine at partner club FC Nordsjaelland and Caleb Yirenkyi is drawing all the attention lately. The 19-year-old Ghanaian central midfielder scored against and continuously pestered Odense in a 2-1 victory away from home for Nordsjaelland on Sunday in the Danish Superliga.

In a Man of the Match performance, Yirenkyi excelled on both sides of the ball. A slow start for the visitors saw Nordsjaelland fall behind with a 0-1 halftime deficit. However, the energetic central midfielder inspired a comeback that saw FCN claim all three points.
After retrieving a loose ball in the 49th minute, Yirenkyi knifed through multiple Odense defenders on a dribbling run into the penalty area before firing low past Odense goalkeeper Theo Sander to level the match.
Norwegian international Ola Solbakken went on to put FCN ahead on the hour mark and the visitors held on for an important victory that could kickstart their domestic league campaign. FCN now have two consecutive victories after enduring a four-match losing streak, leaving them in eighth place on the twelve-team table with nine points from seven matches.
Alongside countrymen Prince Amoako and Stephen Acquah, Yirenkyi appears to be the most promising of FCN’s Right to Dream contingent receiving playing time. Issaka Seidu made his professional debut at the end of the match with a late cameo.
After breaking into the first team last season with two goals and two assists in seventeen games, Sunday marked Yirenkyi’s first goal of the 2025-26 campaign but his ball-winning statistics were most impressive with eleven ball recoveries among other impressive statistics.

Yirenkyi is also breaking into the Ghana senior national team. After debuting for the Black Stars at the Unity Cup over the summer in England, he has been called into Otto Addo’s squad for upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying games against Chad (September 4) and Mali (September 8).
Nordsjaelland’s next league match will arrive after the FIFA window, a challenging clash at home against last season’s Superliga runners-up FC Midtjylland on September 14.
