Cameroon national team coach Marc Brys will be examining the depth of his player pool when the Indomitable Lions face Uganda and Equatorial Guinea for their June international friendly matches. Cameroon will set up base in Morocco before clashing with Uganda on June 6 before facing Equatorial Guinea three days later in Marrakech.

Big names like Bryan Mbeumo, Frank Zambo Anguissa, Christopher Wooh and Andre Onana will not be involved after long seasons in European club football. Brys will get a good look at younger options and players on the fringe of the Cameroonian player pool.

Captain and striker Vincent Aboubakar is included after his departure from Turkish club Hatayspor following their relegation from the top flight. Aboubakar is joined by fellow seasoned campaigners Collins Fai and Jean-Charles Castelletto.

Former England youth international Danny Namaso of FC Porto has been called in after debuting for Cameroon in the March 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. There are still plenty of players based abroad with Olivier Kemen (İstanbul Başakşehir, Turkey) and Boris Enow (DC United, USA) the likely candidates to play in an inexperienced midfield group that also includes James Eto'o (CSKA Sofia, Bulgaria).

There are two players based in Cameroonian football who have been called but the focus for Brys will be on observing players who can compete for playing time in competitive matches.

These two friendlies will be the last opportunity for Brys before World Cup qualifying resumes in September and October. Cameroon return to action in Group D in early September when they host Eswatini before a crucial game against Group D leaders Cape Verde away from home. The Indomitable Lions trail Cape Verde by one point with four games remaining.
