Staring relegation in the face in the South African Premiership, Cape Town City FC interim coach Diogo Peral has delivered a message to the club’s supporters.
The message comes as the Citizens embark on promotion and relegation play-offs against second-tier side Motsepe Foundation.
Peral, who is acting as a stand-in coach following the recent sacking of Muhsin Ertugral, knows that anything can happen against lower-league teams, leading to his plea for more support.
"Now is the time for us to stand together. Players, staff, supporters, everyone," he told the club’s media.
Cape Town City FC’s media added another plea to the fans. The club finished second from bottom of the league table, just behind Royal AM, who who have folded.
“We’ve not picked up the results we wanted, and we go into the play-offs needing every one of you to play your part. Today, we begin a new challenge,” the statement reads.
