Al Ahly has officially announced that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ruled in its favor, confirming the club’s full entitlement to last season’s Egyptian League title.
The decision comes after CAS rejected the appeal submitted by Pyramids FC, who had challenged the final standings amid a dispute over points deductions.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, Al Ahly declared: “The Court of Arbitration for Sport has upheld Al Ahly’s right to last season’s Egyptian Premier League title, dismissing the appeal lodged by the opposing party.”

Al Ahly were crowned champions after finishing the campaign with 58 points, two ahead of Pyramids, their closest challengers.
The controversy stemmed from Al Ahly’s withdrawal from a league match against Zamalek SC in the first round of the second phase of the season. The club had requested the appointment of a foreign refereeing team for the encounter, a demand that was not met.
Following the withdrawal, the competitions committee initially imposed a six-point penalty on Al Ahly — three points for being considered to have lost the forfeited match and an additional three points to be deducted at the end of the season.
However, the Egyptian Clubs Association later amended the decision, maintaining only the three-point deduction related to the match itself and cancelling the additional end-of-season penalty.
As Al Ahly were directly competing with Pyramids for the title, the latter filed an official complaint against the amended ruling. Pyramids also requested that CAS suspend the official announcement of the league champion until a final verdict was reached, a request that was denied due to a lack of sufficient grounds.
In their appeal, Pyramids argued that reinstating the additional three-point deduction would have reduced Al Ahly’s tally to 55 points, effectively handing the league trophy to the Sky Blues.
CAS ultimately dismissed the appeal, thereby confirming Al Ahly as the rightful champions of the 2024-2025 Egyptian League title.
