South African and Toronto FC forward Cassius Mailula has become a hot commodity on the transfer market following the conclusion of his loan spell with Moroccan giants Wydad AC.
His agent, Karabo Tshabuse, confirmed that the 24-year-old has three offers from clubs abroad, spanning across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
Mailula recently parted ways with Wydad AC after their run in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the USA came to an end. He had joined the Botola Pro outfit at the start of the season, a move orchestrated by his former coach Rulani Mokwena, in a bid to gain valuable playing time after a challenging debut season with Toronto FC in Major League Soccer (MLS).
His time in Morocco proved fruitful, with Mailula showcasing his attacking prowess by netting six goals and providing seven assists across all competitions during his one-season stint.
Currently, Mailula is enjoying a well-deserved break, even as his parent club, Toronto FC, continues its MLS campaign. Tshabuse revealed that Toronto FC has given the green light for them to explore new opportunities for the talented forward.
In a radio interview on Metro FM's SNAWA on Wednesday night, Tshabuse elaborated on the offers at hand. "I have three offers on my desk at the moment," she stated. "But we’re doing the same exercise, now you know that experience is the best school for anybody. Now, we’re a little bit more cautious; we want to speak to head coaches. We want to understand what we’re getting into."
While keeping specific club names under wraps, Tshabuse did offer some tantalising hints about their origins: "I can’t reveal one of them [offers], but it’s an Egyptian club. One of them is European, but baby Europe [not in the top five leagues]. Another one is the Middle East, somewhere there."
When probed about potential interest from local South African clubs, Tshabuse acknowledged the support. "To be honest, the local guys have shown just the support for Cassius to want to understand what is going on with him," she explained. She added that Mailula is "open to that [local opportunities], but at the moment, we’re going to take our time."
