The Castle Challenge Cup scheduled for February 20, 2025, will curtain raise the 2025 Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) kick-off, the league’s governing body has confirmed.
Zimbabwe PSL communications and media liaison officer, Kudzai Bare, confirmed to Pan-Africa Football the calendar for the 2025 Castle Lager PSL campaign, saying the actual league action will roll into action a week after the Challenge Cup
“We are prepared; we recently held a pre-season workshop with all the clubs participating this season to review the previous season and plan for 2025,” she said.
“It also served as an induction for the newly-promoted clubs. We covered a lot of topics that are crucial in our operations and we are confident that the teams are ready for matches to start.”
Bare added that the league governing body has intensified player registration and stadium inspections for the new campaign, further urging fans to patronize games.
“We would like to encourage fans to come in their numbers and peacefully cheer for their teams,” the league’s publicist added.
The Challenge Cup will feature league kings Simba Bhora and Chibuku Super Cup winners, Dynamos. After the Challenge Cup, Bhora will switch attention to the league race, opening the floor with a dance against FC Platinum whereas Highlanders face MWOS on day 1 of the action.
Other fixtures will see Dynamos taking on ZPC Kariba whereas Caps United and Greenfuel will sort it out in the opening week.
