Reigning Ethiopian Premier League champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) have filed a complaint to the league over their 2-0 loss to Adama Ketema in the Week 31 match played on May 25 at the Adama Science and Technology Stadium.

A brace from Nebil Nuri handed Adama a crucial 2-0 win as they aim to stage a late escape from the relegation zone. However, the defeat was not taken lightly by CBE, who filed a technical complaint citing poor officiating. According to Soccer Ethiopia, the Addis Ababa outfit claimed that Nuri’s opener in the second half was offside and that match referee Daniel Girmay failed to disallow the goal. CBE also stated they were denied a clear penalty.

The club has submitted the necessary video footage to support their claim as they seek a resolution from the league. Similar technical complaints have been submitted to the league and the Ethiopian Football Federation in the past.

The win took Adama Ketema to 29 points, still five points adrift of the safe zone. CBE are ninth with 39 points.
