The Tanzania women's national team, the Twiga Stars, continued their impressive form in the CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship with a commanding 6-0 victory over Burundi in their second group-stage match played at Azam Complex Stadium on Tuesday.

Tanzania's goals came from Diana Lucas, Jamila Rajabu, Stumai Abdallah, Clara Luvanga, with Opa Clement stealing the spotlight by netting twice to complete the emphatic win.

This dominant performance follows their 4-0 win over South Sudan in the opening match, placing Twiga Stars in a strong position to reach the knockout stage—and possibly contend for the championship title.

For Burundi, this was their third match of the tournament. They began with a narrow 1-0 win over Uganda but then suffered a 3-0 defeat to Kenya before today’s heavy loss to Tanzania.

Twiga Stars will return to action on June 19 in a crucial match against Uganda. Meanwhile, Burundi will wrap up their group stage campaign on June 21 against South Sudan.
