Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC are set to welcome back Congolese striker Cesar Manzoki, with the club and player having agreed terms ahead of a sensational return to Kitende.

According to Swift Sports Uganda, the prolific forward will rejoin the Venoms for a second stint after previously starring for the club during the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons.

Manzoki, who has recently been turning out for Mohammedan Sporting Club in Kolkata, India, left an indelible mark during his initial spell at Vipers. In 46 league appearances, he netted 26 goals and assisted 13 more, earning a reputation as one of the league’s most lethal forwards.

The 2021/22 season saw Manzoki clinch the UPL golden boot with 18 goals, guiding Vipers to the league title. The season prior, he also emerged as the Uganda Cup’s top scorer with 7 goals, underlining his knack for delivering on the big stage.

The Congolese international has also enjoyed spells at several clubs across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including AS Dauphins Noirs, AS Maniema Union, AS Vita Club, Dalian Pro (China), Hatta Club (UAE), and Mohammedan.

Manzoki’s return is expected to bolster Vipers' attacking firepower as the double-winning champions aim to maintain dominance both domestically and on the continental stage.

The club has already secured the signature of forward Jude Ssemugabi and is reportedly eyeing more reinforcements, including NEC FC midfielder Enock Ssebaggala and KCCA FC’s Usama Arafat.
