Champion-of-Champions: Kotoko striker Albert Amoah targets Gold Stars downfall

Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah says the club will work extremely hard to beat league winners, Gold Stars in the Champion-of-Champions encounter.

The FA Cup winners will battle the league champions at the Duns Park on Sunday, August 31 to determine which club carries the coveted trophy.

Having gone three matches without clocking a point in the just ended GHALCA Top Four at the Legon Sports Stadium, Albert Amoah stresses the need to work hard to avoid another defeat.

“From our past games with them we’ve got a lot of chances so we just need to work on our goal scoring so that the chances that we get, we will just be able to score them,” Albert Amoah told Kotoko media.

“In a game there is lose, draw and a win and this time we have lost one and we are not going to repeat it, we are going to work hard and as I said, we will work on our finishing because we are creating chances so we are going to work on our finishing and score them.” He added.

Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup where they are paired against Nigeria’s Kwara United for the preliminary round.

The record Ghana Premier League champions walk into the continental competition with three trophies won last season – the FA Cup, President’s Cup and the Toyota Cup they claimed at the expense of hosts Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
