Nigeria B national team captain Nduka Junior has explained what they want to achieve when they face Zanzibar in a friendly ahead of the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament scheduled to kick off on August 2.

The Super Eagles led by Eric Chelle, who have already landed in Zanzibar for the tournament, have planned two friendly matches against the hosts with the first one scheduled for Monday and the second one on Tuesday.

“On our preparation going into the competition is moving on well. We are still working hard, and preparing because we still have one week before the start of the tournament,” Nduka told the Super Eagles media as quoted by CompleteSports.

“This game is one of the friendlies lined up for us. It’s just for us to know our strengths, and weaknesses.”

He added: “The team we are going to play tomorrow, which is Zanzibar, no one is talking about them for now because we don’t know have any information about them, and that’s how it is in camp.”

Nigeria have been drawn in Group D with defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo and will face Senegal in their first game at the Amman Stadium, Zanzibar on Tuesday, August 7.
