Senegal national team coach Souleymane Diallo is not leaving anything to chance as they come up against Sudan in the third-place play off fixture of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala on Friday.
The Lions of Teranga’s dream to clinch back-to-back CHAN titles was ended by Morocco after losing their semifinals clash 5-3 on penalties following a tense 1-1 draw in Kampala. Meanwhile, Sudan suffered a 1-0 defeat against Madagascar at the same stage.
“This game is an opportunity to show character and bring something positive to Senegal. We want to return home with the bronze medal and repay our people’s support,” said Diallo as quoted by CAFOnline.com.
He added: “Football is dynamic. A coach can change tactics and surprise. We are ready to respond to any challenge.”
