Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has made strategic adjustments to his squad as they prepare for the upcoming international friendly clash against Russia.

After successfully emerging as the 2025 Unity Cup champions, Chelle made four new additions ahead of the friendly game. Brentford defender Benjamin Fredrick, as well as home-based stars Isaac Saviour, Sodiq Ismail, and Sikiru Alimi, are the new additions.

Fredrick and Ismail, however, got late call ups to the Unity Cup final against Jamaica, while Alimi featured against Ghana. Niger Tornadoes midfielder Papa Daniel was originally the only home-based player named in the squad.

The newly crowned Unity Cup champions will arrive in Moscow in the early hours of Monday in almost a four-hour flight from London to Moscow.

The match, set to take place at the iconic Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Friday, June 6, 2025, marks the first-ever senior-level meeting between Nigeria and Russia.
