Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is unsure whether to field Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson in Sunday’s Premier League clash against champions Liverpool.
Following Thursday’s UEFA Conference League semi-final first leg win against Djurgarden in Sweden. The Blues boss is weighing up whether to rest Jackson at the weekend. Chelsea won 4-1 after the Senegalese forward scored a brace, with on-loan Jordan Sancho and Noni Madueke getting the other goals.
Enzo has hinted at the possibility of starting with Pedro Neto instead.
"We’ll see if it’s Nico [Jackson], if it’s Ty, if it’s Pedro [Neto] upfront. If it’s Ty we know he’s doing well every time. Even in the last five minutes of the last game against Everton, he was there, and he deserved the chance," the coach told Chelsea media.
Jackson has recovered from an injury setback that kept him out of action for many weeks to score three goals in two matches, including in the 1-0 win over Everton, keeping their hopes of UEFA Champions League qualification alive.
