Nigeria women’s national team goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has sent a heartfelt message to her fans and those who helped her goalkeeping career after she was named the CAF 2025 Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
The Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper, secured her third consecutive CAF recognition on Wednesday, beating Egypt’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Olamini to be crowned Africa’s best female goalkeeper.

Reacting on her Instagram page, a delighted Nnadozie expressed gratitude to her fans and called the award a reflection of hard work.
l am incredibly grateful and truly honored to receive this award. Being recognized for the 3rd time in a roll means more than words can express. This moment reflects countless hours of hard Work, faith, and perseverance.
“My sincere appreciation goes to all my coaches and teammates, and to all the amazing people who have been part of my journey.”
The 24 year old, went further to thank Nigerian supporters, promising to continue to represent the country and do her best as a goalkeeper.
“To my beautiful family, thank you for your prayers, love, and support from day one. And to my Naija people, na the love wey una don dey show me from my U17 carry me reach here. I go continue to dey stop those hard-hard shots for una.
“I Give God the Glory. Thank you, and God bless.”
Since the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award’s inception in 2023, Nnadozie is the only goalkeeper to have clinched the award.
The Nigerian goalkeeper was also nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or Women’s Yachine Trophy and was shortlisted for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper Award.
