Famous club Dynamos FC of Harare successfully defended their Chibuku Super Cup trophy, defeating Ngezi Platinum 4-2 in a penalty kick shootout following a 1-1 draw in Saturday's final played at the Rufaro Stadium in Harare. Dynamos will represent Zimbabwe in the CAF Confederation Cup for a second consecutive season in the 2025-26 edition of the competition.
Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Frederick Ansah scored a crucial equalizer from long range for the Glamour Boys late in the second half to cancel out a clever opening goal from Ngezi Platinum's Obriel Chirinda. Back-to-back missed penalty kicks from Ngezi Platinum sealed their fate after extra time could not separate the teams.
Chirinda gave Ngezi Platinum the lead in the 23rd minute when the former Bulawayo Chiefs attacker caught Dynamos goalkeeper Martin Mapisa off his line and launched a dipping shot up and over the veteran shot stopper. Momentum appeared to be on the side of Ngezi, third place finishers in the completed Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League, as the match began to approach its conclusion.

However, defending champions Dynamos pushed numbers forward and it was Ghanaian midfielder Ansah who had room to lash a strike from distance that found its way into the goal in the 80th minute.

After a scoreless extra time session, both teams converted their initial penalty kicks before it all went wrong for Ngezi who failed to convert their second and third attempts. Issa Sadiki stepped up and completed a perfect run of four successful penalty kicks to spark joyous celebrations for the Glamour Boys who finished in 8th place in the recently completed Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League campaign.
