Kaizer Chiefs are gearing up for what they labelled as a “high intensity” pre-season camp in the Netherlands, confirming a lineup of five Dutch opponents.
The club announced on Wednesday their plans to arrive at their Apeldoorn base camp, roughly 80 kilometres from Amsterdam, on July 4, with their return to South Africa scheduled for July 19.
Chiefs will take on Vitesse on July 8, Nijmegen on July 12, PEC Zwolle on July 15, and Twente on July 16, in four closed matches that will be open to the public. A closed-door encounter against Utrecht on July 11 completes their European schedule.
Meanwhile, Amakhosi also unveiled Carling Black Label as an official partner for the tour. In a special initiative, a group of lucky supporters, selected through a Vodacom campaign, will travel with the team, experiencing the pre-season journey firsthand.
“During the camp, members of the media will be invited to attend selected training sessions, where there will be opportunities to engage with players and members of the technical team. Moreover, they will be able to interact with a group of Chiefs supporters who will be travelling with the squad. These fans were selected through the Vodacom Tsamaya campaign, a fan engagement initiative in South Africa,” said Chiefs.
“Kaizer Chiefs look forward to a successful and productive pre-season tour, confident that the experience will not only lay a strong foundation for the 2025/26 campaign but will also contribute to the strengthening of football ties between South Africa and the Netherlands.”
