With the lingering relegation threat, Stellenbosch FC coach Gavin Hunt has made one demand to his players as they brace for an away duel with Kaizer Chiefs in a top-flight league match of South Africa on Tuesday.
The seasoned Premier Soccer League (PSL)-award winner has called for his players’ positive mindset going into the Betway Premiership clash at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

He said: “But we’re going there with a positive mindset, there’s no two ways about that, because it’s vitally important that we get a good result tomorrow.”
Stellies face AmaKhosi while seeking to escape the threat of relegation from the PSL. Kick off is 19h30 Southern African Time.
More crucially, Hunt and his side still feel aggrieved by their 1-0 loss to Lamontville Golden Arrows over the weekend in a Nedbank Cup Round of 16, hence his call for a positive vibe.
For Hunt, his task is to ensure that his charges recover mentally and physically from the bruising cup game.
“The Nedbank Cup is out of the way now, so we have to concentrate on all of our league games. It’s very important for us to try to get a good result,” Hunt told his club’s media.
The Stellenbosch FC boss is painfully aware of one hard fact: It is one thing facing Chiefs in your own backyard and totally another doing so in front of their Soweto fans.
“It’s an away game, so it’s going to be tough, but we just have to concentrate on doing the best job that we can and get the best result that we can,” the coach said.
“The previous game doesn’t have an impact at all. We’ve played four games since then, so it’s got no impact on Tuesday’s match and doesn’t come into my thought process at all.
“We’ve just got to look at what we’ve got in terms of the players available for this game, because we’re monitoring the fitness of one or two players, and we’ve got a few suspensions, and try to put out the best 11 that we can.”
This will be a second meeting between the two teams inside a month with the Soweto giants having come out tops in the initial game.
Chiefs occupy fourth seat in the PSL standings, eight points behind leaders and rivals Orlando Pirates.
Stellenbosch SC are third from the basement four points, just four points ahead of bottom side Magesi FC.
The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport PSL.
