Kaizer Chiefs’ engagements in the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) group-stage have affected their domestic fixtures in the Betway Premiership of South Africa.
Consequently, the Premier Soccer League top outfit has announced the rescheduling of its forthcoming match against Marumo Gallants FC.
In a statement, the Soweto giants attributed the change in the fixture from next Tuesday to the following day, Wednesday, to their CAF Confederation Cup away engagement.
Chiefs will travel to Zambia for the continental cup assignment against Zesco United at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Sunday.
“The Betway Premiership clash between Marumo Gallants and Kaizer Chiefs, originally scheduled for Tuesday, 27 January 2026, has been rescheduled to the following day, Wednesday, 28 January, at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Mangaung,” reads the statement.
“This adjustment is necessitated by Amakhosi’s trip to Zambia the weekend before, where they face Zesco United on Sunday, 25 January in the CAF Confederation Cup.”
Chiefs have since urged their fans in Bloemfontein to buy the Confederation Cup group-stage match tickets in advance.
“Supporters in Bloemfontein and across the Free State are strongly encouraged to secure their tickets early, as this highly anticipated encounter is expected to be a sold-out affair. Tickets can be purchased from www.computicket.com, Shoprite and Checkers at R100 per person,” adds the statement.
AmaKhosi will host the Zambians in the reverse fixture of the Confederation Cup on Sunday, February 1, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban
This will be followed by yet another home match against Al Masry at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday, February 8. The group stage concludes with a daunting trip to Egypt to face Zamalek SC on February 15.
The Glamour Boys are winless in the Confederation Cup group-stage this far. The South Africans started their journey with a narrow 2-1 loss to Al Masry in Egypt, followed by a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Zamalek in Polokwane.
Meanwhile, before travelling to Zambia, Chiefs will host Lamontville Golden Arrows on Tuesday, 20 January, at FNB Stadium.
