Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Nigerian international Christantus Uche, who joins the club on a one-year loan from La Liga side Getafe.
The 22-year-old forward will wear the No.12 shirt for the Eagles and becomes the club’s fifth summer recruit, following the arrivals of Walter Benítez, Borna Sosa, Yeremy Pino, and Jaydee Canvot.
Uche’s rise has been a rapid one. Having moved to Europe in 2022 to join Spanish fifth-tier outfit Moralo CP, his talent quickly got attention, leading to a switch to AD Ceuta in the third division. Just two years later, he signed for Getafe ahead of the 2024/25 season.
In his debut campaign at the Coliseum, Uche featured in 41 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. His performances also earned him a call-up to the Nigerian senior national team.
Getafe confirmed that the deal with Palace includes a mandatory purchase option, meaning Uche could extend his stay in the Premier League beyond this season.
Christantus Uche arrives to Crystal Palace after Eberechi Eze left them to join Arsenal last August.
