Ghana Premier League club Aduana Stars have appointed veteran coach Cioaba Aristica to steer the club away from the struggles of the ongoing season.

The two time Ghana champions dispensed with the service of ex-Ghana international, Yaw Acheampong who has masterminded a poor run of form after 12 games. Aduana have roped in the Romanian who is making a third return to the Dormaa based club.

In an interview with Pan-Africa Football the spokesperson for the two time CAF Champions League representatives, Evans Oppong, explained the need to appoint the experienced manager.

“We realized that we need help to strengthen our technical team following Yaw Acheampong’s exit."

“As a matter of fact we had wanted to finalize a deal with Bismark Kobby Mensah but that didn’t materialize. So we went for a Cioaba Aristica and this is the third time he is returning to the Ghana Premier League.

“In 2012 he was in Ghana and 2016 he nearly helped us win the Ghana Premier League and this is his third time. We brought him back because the Dorma folks were calling for him to return judging from what he had done before. He will go straight to work and prepare the team for our next game away to Berekum Chelsea,” Oppong told Pan Africa Football.

Aristica will sign a one year deal with an option to extend for further years at the end of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. They sit low on the GPL table in 14th positoin with 12 points from 12 league matches. Their next fixture is at the Golden City Park against Berekum Chelsea.
