Aliou Cissé has been named to a star-studded FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The Libya National Team head coach is the only African representative in the TSG.
The group is led by FIFA Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger.
According to FIFA, the TSG will be responsible for providing in-depth insights from all 63 tournament matches and selecting the winners of the FIFA awards. The TSG lineup features Esteban Cambiasso (Argentina), Aliou Cissé (Senegal), Tobin Heath (USA), Jürgen Klinsmann (Germany), Roberto Martínez (Spain), Gilberto Silva (Brazil), and TSG lead Pascal Zuberbühler (Switzerland).
“We have brought together a group of experts from diverse cultures and various places in the world who have great experience and real expertise,” said Wenger.
Cissé helped Senegal win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and led the team in two FIFA World Cups. He is regarded as one of the top African coaches of the past decade.
The FIFA Club World Cup will kick off on Sunday, June 15, in the United States.
