Club Africain elects new president after trophyless season

Mohsen Trabelsi (MD) has been elected as the new president of the Tunisian side Club Africain.

The Tunis outfit’s board members resigned after a trophyless season at the club, as an elective general assembly was held last weekend in the Tunisian capital.

He is a well-known orthopaedic and trauma surgeon. He was the only candidate who ran for the presidency of the club.

Dr. Trabelsi was the chair of the club’s medical committee. Trabelsi was elected with a large majority, receiving 370 votes out of a total of 401 voters (92.28% of the votes). After winning the vote almost unanimously, the only candidate list was elected to head Club Africain’s board of directors for a three-year term.

The new board is tasked with bringing glory back to the club. Club Africain is now in a rebuilding phase following another disappointing season. They finished fourth in the Tunisian Ligue 1 as they missed out on CAF club competitions for the 2025/26 season.
