The managerial merry-go-round continues in the Ethiopian Premier League, with strugglers Mekele 70 Enderta and Arbaminch Ketema parting ways with their coaches.
Getachew Dawit left Mekele 70 Enderta by mutual consent, while Arbaminch Ketema sacked Bereket Demu.
Mekele 70 Enderta started the season on a negative note, as they sit 19th with five points from 10 games. The northern Ethiopian side were beaten 2–1 by Hadiya Hossana in week 10 of the top flight, after which the club board decided to part ways with Dawit.
The former Shire Midregenet head coach took charge of Mekele at the start of the new season, but poor results plunged the club deep into the relegation zone.
The one-time Ethiopian champions have since moved on to name veteran trainer Tsegaye Kidanemariam as their new coach. Kidanemariam was unemployed after leaving Mekele 70 Enderta at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Arbaminch Ketema sacked Demu after a series of unimpressive results. The Crocodiles lost 3–1 to Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, which proved to be the final straw for Demu. The southern Ethiopian side are bottom of the league with only five points.
Arbaminch will face Mekele 70 Enderta in week 11 of the Ethiopian Premier League, as they named Abebaw Butako as their new trainer on an interim basis. The former Ethiopian international was among the former players recently enrolled in the CAF FastTrack Coaching B License.
Butako played for Saint George for much of his career and had a brief stint at Sudanese giants Al Hilal. It will be his first assignment as a coach.
