Ethiopian Coffee and Singida Black Stars win big in CECAFA Kagame Cup

Ethiopian Coffee and Singida Black Stars registered big wins in the CECAFA Kagame Cup Group A encounters. The Ethiopian side thumped Djibouti outfit Garde Cotes 6-0, while Singida Black Stars overcame Kenya Police 2-1.

Ethiopian Coffee maintained the positive head-to-head record Ethiopian clubs have over Djiboutian sides after scoring six past Garde Cotes. It was a one-sided affair with the Browns going 4-0 up in the first half. Amanuel Admassu stole the show with a hat-trick, and new signing Zelalem Abate scored his first-ever Coffee goal as he bagged a brace. Adamu Abubakar got the other goal in Coffee’s big win earlier today.

Singida Black Stars pipped Kenya Police in the later kick-off. Elvis Rupia and Ande Koffi Cirille gave the Tanzanian side a two-goal cushion. Charles Ouma pulled one back before the end of the tie.

Ethiopian Coffee tops the group level on four points with Singida Black Stars but ahead on goal difference. Kenya Police are down to third with three points, while Garde Cotes’ CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign ends on matchday two.
