UEFA Conference League: Sarr scores to help Crystal Palace leave Bosnia with draw

English Premier League side Crystal Palace hold the advantage in their UEFA Conference League Round of 32 clash after Ismaïla Sarr’s first half strike helped the visitors to a 1-1 first leg result at Bosnian club Zrinjski.

The Senegalese winger finished from Jørgen Strand Larsen’s layoff in the 44th minute to give Palace the lead just before halftime.

Karlo Abramovic leveled the match early in the second half. The vistors from England were mostly content to focus on keeping possession after halftime, even after conceding which maintained a desirable result to take back to London.

Sarr’s unpredictable style of play on the ball was the greatest weapon for The Eagles, making him an effective force in a team that did not take too many risks away from home. He succeeded on four of his eight dribbling attempts against opposition defenders and looked to get behind on numerous occasions.

The result leaves Palace as substantial favorites to secure a place in the Round of 16. They will host Wolves in Premier League action on Sunday before staying at Selhurst Park for the second leg next Thursday.
