Congolese Lwamba named Botswana Premier League’s best player

Congolese attacker Jean Lwamba was the biggest winner during the Botswana Premier League (BPL) awards held on Wednesday.
The TAFIC FC’s star was named the 2024-2025 Player of the Season. He earned recognition after scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists in 29 FNB Premiership games.
Lwamba also finished as the joint Golden Boot Award winner alongside Thatayaone Witness Kgamanyane of championsGaborone United.
There was more celebration for TAFIC FC as their Zambian mentor, Elias Chinyemba, bagged the Coach of the Year accolade while 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗡𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼 made it as Players’ Player of the Season.
More was yet to come from TAFIC as 𝗧𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗽𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀𝗶 went home with the Goalkeeper of the Season crown, a reward for keeping 11 clean sheets in 22 league games while conceding 13 goals in the FNB Premiership. To cap it all, TAFIC’s 𝗞𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗱𝗶 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗼 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗿 claimed the Young Player of the Year crown.
Champions Gaborone United produced the FNB Premiership Midfielder of the Season in Lebogang Ditsele. His Zimbabwean teammate Tatenda Gora earned the defender of the season award.
In a statement, BPL says “the Zimbabwean international enjoyed a stellar season with Moyagoleele, helping the club to clinch the FNB Premiership title. He featured in all 30 league games and scored five goals in the process.”
