COSAFA Cup: Comoros leaves door open in Group D after draw with Botswana

Group D at the 2025 COSAFA Cup remains up for grabs after Comoros and Botswana played to a scoreless draw to wrap up Monday’s action in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

There were some promising sequences from both teams but the final product was not there from the attacking units. Comoros, surprise victors over defending champions in their opening match, got off to the better start against a Botswana team involved in their first match at the competition.

However, both goalkeepers were not particularly bothered even as the intensity increased in the second half. The result leaves Botswana in contention to qualify for the semifinals as group winners if they can overcome Zambia in the final Group D match on Wednesday. Monday’s result eliminates Zambia from contention to advance.
