Nigerian striker Hafiz Ibrahim has helped Stade Reims to reach the final of the Coupe de France following a 2-1 win over fourth division side Cannes. Ibrahim scored the first and assisted the second as he started in the semifinal tie.

Former Mali international Samba Diawara's charges came to the tie with full confidence after beating Olympique de Marseille in a Ligue 1 encounter last week. Hafiz gave the visitors the lead with a tap in the 14th minute. The home side were better in possessing the ball during the interval.

Cannes equalized after the resumption with Senegalese midfielder Cheikh Ndoye headed home from a corner. But the Red and White retook the lead when Hafiz assisted second half substitute Teddy Teuma to strike the winning goal.

The two-time Coupe de France champions reached the final for the first time since the 1976/77 season. Former Mali international Diawara was named coach of the club in late February and managed to lead the club to a cup final after a 48 year wait.

They will face reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
