Simba went down early against Dodoma Jiji but recovered with a strong second half to secure victory at the Sheikh Amri Abeid in Arusha.

Tanzania national team forward Seleman Mwalimu scored twice after the interval and Anicet Oura added the go-ahead goal on the hour mark to complete the comeback. Mwalimu placed his header perfectly to level in the 54th minute before Oura uncorked a fabulous strike from distance to put the Reds up for good.

Mwalimu then finished off the victory in the 67th minute after running onto a loose ball in space before shooting low past Dodoma keeper Daniel Mgore.

Singida, meanwhile, experienced no issues in a dominant 5-1 victory over Mbeya City.

Uganda national team captain Khalid Aucho opened the scoring for the big spenders, who took out the frustration of a disappointing league campaign on fellow top flight side Mbeya.

They are joined by fellow early winners TRA United, who overcame Namungo FC 2-0 away from home.

To finish the Round of 16, Azam thrashed Fountain Gate 4-0. Former TP Mazembe striker Jephte Kitambala combined with star winger Iddy Nado to open the scoring in the 16th minute and that was the end of Fountain Gate’s resistance.
