Young Africans (Yanga SC) coach Miloud Hamdi has exuded confidence that they have what it takes to beat JKT Tanzania and qualify for the final of the domestic CRDB Federation Cup on Sunday.
The Citizens will come up against their Mainland Premier League opponents in the last four of the knockout competition at CCM Mkwakwani in Tanga seeking to keep alive their hopes of winning a double this season.
“Our CRDB Cup semi-final game against JKT Tanzania is a tough game and of its own kind, but the results of this kind of games must be victory and we have prepared well to make sure we move forward and get to the final stage, Young Africans are a big team, and we must win every game that we play,” Hamdi told Pan-Africa Football.
“The players are in good condition and those with injuries and pains are all ready and have prepared well ahead of the game. But we will miss Yao and Boka, who are still undergoing treatment for injuries together with Mwamnyeto, who is suspended, but all the other players are in good condition and available to play.”
In his message to Yanga fans ahead of the game, Hamdi said: “I have received information about a large number of our fans travelling from Dar es Salam and other places to come and support us together with our fans here in Tanga. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the fans, this helps us increase our motivation to go and fight more in the field.”
Speaking on behalf of the players, Dickson Job said: “On behalf of my fellow players, we are well prepared ahead of the game against JKT Tanzania. I urge our fans to come out in large numbers on the field, we promise to entertain them.”
Yanga are also in the race to retain the league title as they are currently topping the log.
