Singida Black Stars head coach David Ouma has revealed their readiness to face Young Africans (Yanga SC) in the final of the CRDB Federation Cup at New Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar on Saturday.
With the ticket for CAF Confederation Cup at stake, the Kenyan coach believes Singida have done everything in the tournament to deserve the trophy in the final.
“It is every coach’s dream to play in a final, and it is no difference here at Singida, we fought for the ticket to reach the final, and out of the two teams in the final, Singida had to fight because of the matches we played to reach there,” Ouma told Pan-Africa Football.
“Our focus and DNA heading into this final is to win the trophy, we have developed as a team gradually since the season kicked off, and now we have a great chance to end the season with silverware, so our mentality is to go ahead and beat Yanga to the Cup.
“The win will shake of the perception that only Yanga can win the trophy, and like I said, if you look at the two teams, Singida went through difficult matches to reach the final.
“So, we defined ourselves to earn the ticket to the final, and this is more than a motivation to go ahead and win the trophy.”
On his part, Yanga coach Miloud Hamdi stated their commitment to seal a treble by beating Singida Black Stars. “Our focus is to finish the season with three trophies, we have won two, one more to go, and we must achieve the target on Saturday,” said Hamdi.
Singida qualified for the final after beating Simba SC 3-1 in the semi-finals.
