Uganda Women’s Senior Team (Crested Cranes) head coach Sheryl Botes has summoned a provisional 39-player squad to begin preparations for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026 Qualifiers against Ethiopia.
The Crested Cranes will host the first leg on Friday, 21st February, before traveling for the return fixture in Ethiopia on Wednesday, 26th February. Botes and her squad are aiming for a return to the continental stage, having last participated in the 2022 edition in Morocco.
The squad includes a mix of experienced internationals and young talent with notable call-ups for U-17 players Doreen Aujat, Agnes Nabukenya, Martha Babirye and Rinah Ariho.
The team will enter camp on Sunday, 9th February 2025, at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi and will conduct their training sessions at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Coach Botes will be hoping to guide the Crested Cranes to their second-ever WAFCON appearance, following their 2022 campaign in Morocco.
