Congolese defender Kévin Mondeko has agreed to join CS Sfaxien. The Tunisian outfit had been searching for a commanding defender during the transfer window and settled on the free agent Mondeko.

According to Tunisian daily La Presse, Mondeko has signed a two-year deal with the Sfax-based club. Head coach Mohamed Kouki and Sfaxien’s sporting director Tarek Salem played key roles in convincing the DR Congo international to join their project in North Africa.

The center-back left USM Alger at the end of his contract in July 2025 following their Algerian Cup triumph. The former TP Mazembe player brings a wealth of experience and is expected to lead Sfaxien’s defense. Mondeko, 29, is known for his ability to play out from the back and his strength in aerial duels.

Sfaxien have already secured the signings of Willy Onana, Ammar Taifour, Travis Mutyaba and Moussa Camara. The club is aiming to return to its former glory next season after a disappointing campaign in both the domestic league and continental competitions last term.
