Rangers FC and Nigeria national team striker Cyriel Dessers has officially clinched the Golden Boot in the 2024/25 Scottish Premiership season.

Dessers secured the top scorer award on the final day of the campaign, netting in Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road on Saturday, bringing his total to an impressive 18 goals from 35 appearances.

The 30-year-old's consistent goal-scoring throughout the season saw him outpace his closest rivals, with Dundee United's Simon Murray and Celtic star Daizen Maeda both finishing the season with 16 goals.

This triumph makes Dessers the first Rangers player to win the Scottish Premiership Golden Boot since Alfredo Morelos in the 2018-19 season, who also scored 18 goals.

Last season, the award was claimed by Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland. Dessers' dominant performance throughout the 2024/25 campaign solidified his status as one of the league's most prolific attackers and will undoubtedly boost his confidence heading into the next season.
