Despite transfer rumors, Nigeria national team forward Cyriel Dessers has made his intentions clear that he is not considering an exit from Scottish Premiership club Glasgow Rangers this summer.
Dessers, who ended the 2024 25 season as the highest goal scorer in the Scottish Premiership, has been constantly linked with a move away from the Light Blues after displaying impressive scoring form for the club.
The 30-year-old was on the brink of an Ibrox exit in January, having fallen out of favor and lost his starting spot to Morocco’s Hamza Igamane. This surprising dip in status came despite the Nigeria international’s stellar previous campaign for Rangers, where he netted an impressive 29 goals and laid on seven assists in 55 appearances across all competitions.
Dessers speaking withScottish media as per VoetbalKrant stated that it is normal for clubs to show interest in him but he is not thinking of leaving the Gers.
“With my statistics, it is normal that there is interest. I still have two years of contract with a fantastic club like Rangers. I don’t have to leave.”
The Nigerian forward is currently with the Super Eagles as they gear up to face Russia in a friendly in Moscow on Friday.
