According to Record Sport, Dessers has been offered a £30,000-a-week deal by the 13-time Greek Super League champions.
AEK moved to sign the striker in January but were unable to meet Rangers’ valuation but now the Yellow and Reds have now been boosted by the cash of new owner Marios Iliopoulos, who is a shipping magnate. Marko Nikolic’s side are ready to sign the Nigeria international for £5m.
Dessers cost Rangers £4.5m when he joined from Italian club Cremonese two years ago. The 30-year-old was top scorer in the Scottish Premiership last season with 18 goals, also scoring a further 11 goals across European and domestic cup competitions.
AEK finished in fourth place this past season in the Greek Super League, qualifying for the UEFA Conference League next season.
