Burkina Faso international Dango Ouattara endured a difficult moment as Brentford FC were eliminated from the Round of 16 of the FA Cup by West Ham United after a dramatic penalty shootout.
The match ended 2–2 in regular time. Jarrod Bowen scored twice for West Ham in the 19th and 34th minutes, while Igor Thiago netted for Brentford in the 28th and 81st minutes to level the score.
Both teams then played extra time, but neither side managed to find a winner, sending the tie to a penalty shootout.
Ouattara stepped up to take Brentford’s second penalty, attempting a Panenka-style effort down the middle. However, the shot was saved by the West Ham goalkeeper. The remaining penalties were converted by both teams, with the shootout eventually ending 5–3 in favor of West Ham.
